Gainesville, GA Contract Duration: 12-36 months Rate: Negotiable Responsibilities: - Excellent employment opportunity for a Laboratory Technician - Tissue Culture in the Gainesville, GA area.
- CANDIDATES CANNOT HAVE PET BIRDS OR CHICKENS OF ANYKIND AT HOME. IF SO, THEY ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE.
- Assists in all areas in the production of Marek's disease vaccine.
- Which may include but are not limited to: Performing all processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Utilizes sterile technique at all times.
- Active knowledge of working under laminar flow hoods and HEPA filtered environment.
- Communicates any occurrence to team leader and/or supervisor immediately.
- Responsible for keeping the laboratory area clean and sterile at all times.
- Individual monthly responsibilities are assigned in each laboratory.
- Individual must ensure these activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assists in receiving roller bottles in laboratories and receiving roller bottles in holding area.
- Assists with the candling and racking of eggs in Incubation department.
- Maintains accurate and timely manufacturing records.
- Actively promotes safety and awareness in the laboratory, always acting in occurrence with safety practices.
Experience: - High School Diploma
- Hours: Monday 7:00AM 5:00PM, Tuesday 7:00AM 4:00PM, Wednesday 7:00AM 2:30PM, Thursday 7:00AM 5:00PM, Friday 7:00AM-12:30PM
- Laboratories rotate coming in at 6:00AM and some overtime should be expected. There is also rotated weekend work once technicians are trained. It's typically 6AM or 7AM until 10AM on Saturday and 6:00AM or 7:00AM until 11 on Sunday. The technicians working the weekend get the prior Wednesday off.
- Training begins immediately.
- Individual must be fully trained in a timely manner on sterile technique and general laboratory procedures.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and carry it 10ft.
- Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time and work in a sterile environment.
- This position requires weekend work.
- Regular attendance is a must.
- Can work well under time restraints.
