The role requires knowledge of advanced geotechnical testing techniques and protocols; experience with experimental design and apparatus development; and a curiosity-driven mindset. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and scientists, conduct novel geomechanical tests, support on-going research programs, and expand the IP of the company. Tasks - Take an active role in the development of new experimental apparatuses and testing protocols, understanding of multiphase flow and transport through porous and/or fractured media and geochemical processes related to CO2 sequestration, geological H2, and mineral extraction - specially, at HPHT (supercritical) conditions.;
- Conduct diverse geomechanics experiments including single/multistage triaxial compression, direct/indirect tension, hollow cylinder test, fracture toughness, and rock compressibility tests.
- Investigate the behavior of fluid-saturated rock under HPHT conditions. Focus areas include rock strength, hydraulic fracturing and proppant characterization, fluid flow and reactive transport.
- Investigate the role of electrical stimulation on the permeability evolution of rock. Stimulation techniques include direct current (DC), alternating current (AC), and pulse power shock.
- Ensure that all the equipment in the laboratory is working, calibrated, and is fit for purpose;
- Develop the Lab Safety Protocol and other EHS duties;
- Willingness to learn and share knowledge and challenges to benefit the team;
