Landscape Laborer

The Landscape Laborer is a Full Time (40 hrs a week) position that works on a team under the Landscape Director as a part of Bethel Church staff to maintain the grounds of Bethel properties with excellence and beauty.
Involves strenuous physical labor in all types of weather. Includes digging, mowing, trimming, weeding, brush cutting, and the use of power equipment. Requires competence in the use of hand and power tools as well as basic familiarity with water features and landscape maintenance - Care for established lawns by mowing, aerating, de-thatching, trimming, and edging.
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, pruners, or axes.
- Operate power tools, such as mowers, blowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, hedge trimmers, trenchers, and aerators.
- Mix, spray, and apply all types of pesticides; including herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers, and rodenticides using hand and automatic sprayers and spreaders.
- Keep sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and planter baed clear of debris.
- Maintain and clean outdoor water features.
- Prune and trim trees and plants, using hand tools and 2-cycle equipment.
- Remain current on the knowledge of installation and maintenance of landscape plant material.
- Maintain plant beds by dead heading, weeding, and applying mulch.
Salary Range : $32,240.00 - $34,320.00 Requirements - Believes and adheres to the beliefs and vision of Bethel Church
- Ability to perform a variety of physical labor, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for long periods of time; lifting and carrying, tools, equipment, and materials
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs several times per shift
