The Lead Liferay Designer will design, develop, and support applications built on the Liferay DXP Platform in an agile framework. Will be responsible for work with programmers on the team to assist in the customization and development of a communications portal based on Liferay DXP. Position will be 80% development and 20% administration of the existing applications.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Design, develop and support applications built on the Liferay DXP Platform in an agile framework.
• Work with product management team to develop overall scope and work plan for implementing requirements.
• Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective and efficient solutions that meet business requirements.
• Drive continuous improvements, make recommendations, and advise on organization-wide system improvements, optimization or maintenance efforts in software, software development methodologies, lifecycle management, modeling, and simulation.
• Collaborate with analysts in documenting and capturing software requirements in the form of epics, features, user stories, process models and use cases in an agile development environment.
• Work with programmers at all levels of technical ability by assisting them in the customization and development of a communications portal based on Liferay DXP.
• Review existing documentation to understand system functionality and use that information to implement functionality in the modernized grant case management system.
• Provide guidance and training for the development, maintenance, and updating of Web pages to junior members of the team.
• Be responsible for managing the Liferay DXP environments for development, validation and production.

You'll Bring these Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience as a Liferay Engineer - managing Liferay DXP environments for development, validation, and production.
• 3+ years of Liferay Development experience, HTML/CSS/JS (themes).
• Experience installing and patching Liferay DXP instances including clusters.
• 3+ years of Angular and/or React front end development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Prior healthcare payer experience desired.
• Prior experience managing Liferay DXP in a Cloud (AWS preferred) environment desired.
• Liferay DXP Certification desired.
• Knowledge of Elastic Search engines, experience improving Search results for Liferay DXP desired.
