Lead Systems Integration Engineer: Our customer is at the forefront of acquiring major satellite communications systems, and our team provides the Systems Engineering & Integration between the multiple segments – spacecraft bus, payload, terminals, ground command, control, and planning as well as between Satellite Systems (AEHF, ESS, EPS, EPS-R, WGS, Protected Tactical).
As the lead Systems Integration Engineer, you will lead a small team to provide technical and programmatic support to identify, coordinate and resolve issues between SMC and the stakeholder community. You will ensure the requirements and capabilities reflect community expectations and provide subject-matter expertise. You will develop Integration Plans and lead your team to execute those plans.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute Integration Plans for managing Systems Integration across the SMC SATCOM portfolio
- Lead a small, dispersed team (3-5 persons) providing Systems Integration and engineering for legacy and emerging SATCOM programs at SMC
- Provide subject matter expertise in Systems Integration for SMC’s SATCOM Capability Integration branch
- Work closely with leadership and Industry Partners, including: USSF/USSPACE, SMDC/ARSTRAT, NAVWAR, USSTRATCOM and other COCOMs, Service, DISA, International Partners, and Industry
- Assess, socialize, and integrate Models Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) products into the SATCOM portfolio
- Ensure traceability from DoD-level capability gaps down to system-level technical requirements
- Integrate architectural products with requirements, schedule, and risk to provide a comprehensive decision-ready toolkit to Chief Engineers and Program Managers
Required:
- An active Secret security clearance required to be considered for the position
- Familiarity with SMC SATCOM programs
- Familiarity with organizations such as USSF/USSPACE, SMDC/ARSTRAT, NAVWAR, USSTRATCOM and other COCOMs, Service, DISA, International Partners, and Industry
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, physics, or computer science
- 15+ years overall applicable experience (Risk and Issues Management, Schedule Management, Systems Engineering)
- 10+ years in space-related systems
- 5+ years in MILSATCOM
Heavily Preferred:
- Master’s degree in technical discipline
- INCOSE certification (CSEP, ESEP)
- Other professional certifications (CISSP, PMP)
- Familiarity with MBSE
US Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance is required(link removed) This is a full-time, fully-funded position located in El Segundo, CA.
