Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the position of
Legal Counsel
, based in Milan.

The successful candidate will perform responsibilities for Italy and will provide legal advice and support to other Eastern Mediterranean countries, including Turkey, Greece, Cyprus & Israel.

We will count on you to:

provide expert legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law and dispute resolution;
represent the organization to minimize legal, compliance and regulatory risk by resolving issues and ensuring adherence to business and legal standards;
draft, review and approve policies, procedures, contracts and related documents for business operations;
conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
develop, implement and provide reporting on a variety of legal, compliance, regulatory and contractual matters;
stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization and provide proactive advice and recommendations.


What you need to have:

Masters Degree in Law;
At least 5 years of relevant experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department;
Previous international working experience in a similar role would be considered a plus, especially if related to the Eastern Mediterranean region;
Experience in handling international sanctions screening would be considered a plus;
Strong knowledge of Insurance-specific laws and regulations.
Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and review.
Commercially focused, culturally sensitive with excellent communication skills and business acumen
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal skills in Italian and English; knowledge of either Arabic, Turkish or Hebrew would be considered a plus.
