The Loan Operations Specialist provides outstanding customer service and specialized technical assistance in servicing loans. Answers borrower inquiries, initiates correspondence, prepares and monitors reports and processes monetary transactions. Follows Association workflow processes, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1) Review loan files for completeness, including loan approvals, title reports, appraisals, entity documents, applications and supporting information. Prepare requests and/or correspondence to obtain information or required documentation. Input all required data into the loan origination and related systems. Ensure loans are properly completed, secured and documented. Print, review, and assemble loan documents for signature

2) Request/prepare UCC searches, obtain and verify insurance, request title searches and/or commitments and review upon receipt. Work with title and escrow to obtain an acceptable and accurate report.

3) Ensure customer service is maintained at a high level at all times. Answer telephone calls, respond to requests for information and assistance, and initiate correspondence.

4) Process incoming and outgoing mail, maintain office supplies and marketing materials, assist with maintenance of facilities, serve as a vendor liaison, and assist with safety and wellness event coordination.

5) Process requests for disbursement of loan funds, payments, and daily balancing. Process borrower draft orders and maintain log for branch checks.

6) Initiate and prepare correspondence for loan transactions, loan servicing, and insurance. Obtain peer reviews when required.

7) Maintain member files, both electronic and hard copy as required. Recognize noncompliance with policies and procedures and elevate to senior operations staff for resolution.

8) Input required data into the loan origination and related systems.

9) Review reports and respond appropriately by coordinating with other functional areas, preparing required documentation, and updating systems. Ensure the accuracy and monitor servicing related loan covenants.

10) Comply with Association policies and procedures and ensure that daily workflow assignments are completed. As directed by supervisor, provide backup assistance by traveling to a specific location if needed.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma, plus at least two years of post-high school education or equivalent.

• Two year related office experience performing similar functions is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to generate highly accurate work.

• Knowledge and experience with basic bookkeeping skills and procedures.

• Proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.

• Ability to use software and information technology to collect, organize, retrieve, maintain and disseminate information. Ability to use technology in new or complex situations.
