MATTER Intern Experience

We believe that meaningful internship experiences are built on community, and we strive to cultivate an engaging and welcoming atmosphere for our interns with weekly talks, regular intern huddles and engagement with the MATTER team. We encourage our interns to build connections with each other over the course of the internship. Overall, we want our interns to feel comfortable being who they are at work, asking questions, forming authentic relationships and having fun.

Heres what some of our interns have said about working at MATTER:

  • I really appreciate MATTERs commitment to inclusion in leveraging its resources and network to improve the entrepreneur scene in Chicago and enable additional voices to be included in a field where BIPOC are typically underrepresented.
  • Im grateful to work at a place where I feel like being myself and having fun are part of my everyday life at MATTER. People genuinely want to help you make the most of your experience, learn whatever youre interested in, and forge long-lasting connections.
  • We have opportunities to jump in on projects that we find interesting or want to learn more about, and everyone is always so willing to help out and teach about what they know!
  • I personally think you get a lot more from a smaller company! Better, more genuine connections, more opportunities, more networking. MATTER also stresses that everyone is more than coworkers.
