Cushing Academy, a culturally diverse residential independent boarding school serving 9th grade through post-grad located in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN). The position is for varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. It also includes working some holidays, alternating weekends, and alternate shift coverage as needed. The Health Services Nurse (RN or LPN) provides professional health care to students and coordinates continued health care with allied health care professionals. Applies appropriate theory from nursing and associated areas to meet and uphold the mission statement of the school. Uses a systematic approach to problem-solving in nursing practice. Contributes to the education of the student with and without special needs by continuous assessment of the student, planning and providing appropriate nursing care, and evaluating outcomes of care. Uses effective written verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Maintains a comprehensive school health program as established by the Director of Health Services. Assists students, families, and the school community to achieve optimal levels of wellness through appropriately designed and delivered health education. Promotes quality of care, pursues continued professional enhancement, and demonstrates professional conduct.
