Position Description:

The Management Consultant Junior is a junior position supporting Senior and Principal Consultants with strategic planning, organizational change management, governance, policy, communication and marketing, performance management, and process documentation and reengineering efforts.

Minimum/General Experience: 3 years' experience supporting a Senior and/or Principal Consultant in management consulting (e.g., strategic planning, organizational change management, governance, policy, communication and marketing, performance management, and process documentation and reengineering)

Minimum Education: Bachelors' degree in an associated discipline

Essential Skills/Qualifications:
  • Above average facilitation skills
  • Above average experience creating and maintaining process documentation
  • Experience supporting two or more of the following consulting services (e.g., strategic planning, organizational change management, governance, policy, communication and marketing, performance management, and process documentation and reengineering)
  • Strong ability to maintain relationships and influence others to move toward a common vision or goal
  • Strong ability to translate complex information in an easy-to-understand way for a variety of audiences
  • Strong ability to collaborate and build interpersonal relationships with clients and the internal team
  • Strong ability to multitask and support multiple different projects as needed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of federal civilian agencies (e.g., Department of Veterans Affairs (preferred), Defense Health Agency, Health and Human Services)
Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident that has lived in the United States for at least 3 years
Federal Civilian Public Trust Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:
  • Covers 5-10 year period and in some instances lifetime events
  • OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)
  • DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)
  • National Agency Check (NAC) records
  • FBI name check
  • FBI fingerprint check
  • Credit report check
  • Written inquiries to previous employers and references listed on the application for employment
  • Potential interviews with the subject, spouse, neighbors, supervisor, coworkers
  • Law enforcement check
  • Court records check
  • Education check- Attendance and Degrees
Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides junior support to Senior and Principal Management Consultants to conduct research, interpret results and make recommendations
  • Supports change and transition within organizations, programs, and projects
  • Reviews processes and recommends improvements
  • Creates, manages, and maintains process documents and operational documentation
  • Contributes to internal brainstorming sessions and collaborating with team members
  • Facilitates discussions with internal team to determine areas of possible improvement
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis to support the correct solution
  • Supports program analysis, strategic planning, integrated master scheduling, metrics, acquisitions management, and risk management in support of business process engineering/re-engineering
  • Prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes
  • Supports quality and program management activities
