The Network Engineering manager oversees a team of professionals that design, develop, and support highly scalable, reliable, and secure networking solutions for Maximus. This position is responsible for the management of day-to-day network engineering activities as well as managing the successful delivery of network engineering projects. The ability to develop and grow a team of highly skilled network engineers is essential as Maximus transforms to our next generation network technologies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Manages the day-to-day operations of the network engineering team, including tracking work assignments, managing Kanban boards, performing stakeholder communications and handling escalations. Drives the delivery of high-quality network solutions by creating standards, templates, documentation, test-cases, and operational turnover checklists. Ensures the successful delivery of network engineering projects by leveraging agile concepts and portfolio management techniques. Drives the use of automation and cloud technology for improved efficiency, cost, and agility. In addition, supports the NextGen network technology vision and roadmap. Works closely with the network operations team to ensure the seamless transition of solutions from network engineering to operations and creates feedback loops that help drive network operations SLA improvements. Assesses talent, sets performance standards, identifies gaps, and holds team members accountable to standards. In addition, provides mentorship opportunities and creates stretch roles to develop future leaders. Establishes goals, develops resource plans, prioritizes work, and provides regular performance feedback to team. Stays abreast of industry trends, performs benchmarking, and drives continuous improvement activities for the team. Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and MAXIMUS information; performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by management
Education and Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field; equivalent work experience (8+ years in Networking) will be considered in lieu of degree Four (4) or more years experience in multiple network systems environment; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Requires skill in coordinating the implementation of technology projects Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and demands; and managing the work of others Experience in solving technical problems involving multiple operating systems, applications, and platforms. Experience in operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds Work is constantly performed in an office environment

Minimum Requirements:
