Manager/Senior Manager, Talent and Recruitment

Location: D.C., New York, Chicago, or San Francisco (Hybrid) or fully remote

The Impact You Will Make

Bully Pulpit Interactive (BPI) is searching for an experienced talent acquisition professional to drive a dynamic recruitment function, in addition to playing a role across relevant talent and culture initiatives. We are looking for someone eager to learn and tell the BPI story, attracting exceptional candidates to the unique opportunity theyll have to grow with us and make an impact on our culture and business.

In this position, youll be responsible for helping us identify, attract, and hire high-potential team members, as you'll spend 60%-80% of your time on talent acquisition. You will ensure our recruitment approach aligns with company goals and, importantly, reinforces our commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. You will have an opportunity to think holistically about our employer brand, including our online presence, external partnerships and marketing efforts, as well as touch a variety of internal initiatives and special projects. This role requires someone energized by new challenges, uniquely skilled in connecting with a variety of people and personalities at all levels of experience, and adept at building strong partnerships with senior leadership.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

Talent Acquisition

  • Sourcing and Recruiting. Actively recruit for all full-time positions and seasonal fellowships. Source qualified candidate pools for open roles, and build diverse talent pipelines for roles at all levels. Educate hiring managers on best practices as well as support BPIs commitment to hiring a more diverse workforce by building diverse partnerhships with schools, recruiters and organizations.
  • Process Implementation and Compliance. Ensure a fair, efficient and effective interview and hiring process. Collaborate with key stakeholders to revise and implement forward-thinking people policies and programs that align with current and future needs.
  • Staff Planning. Work with the COO and Head of Talent to plan and maintain staffing budget projections. Using your relationships with hiring teams be a thought partner in sharing creative ways to solve staffing needs.

Talent Operations

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Be a thought leader and project manager for DE&I initiatives, metrics, and culture-building. Help us continue to weave Diversity, Equity & Inclusion into the fabric of the organization with an eye toward communication and growth.
  • Staff Development. Instill a passion for personal and professional growth in our team members both through recruiting the best talent, but also by engaging with Learning & Development initiatives, staff training programs, and BPI culture-building.
  • Operations Initiatives. Play a role on broader team initiatives that span the functional areas of operations and talent. Be ready to directly impact culture, engagement, communication, and collaboration, enabling you to foster team relationships and have an impact on the ongoing employee lifecycle.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of talent recruitment experience at all levels. Youve conducted and trained others on how to lead impactful interviews and have successfully built diverse and deep pipelines that align with projected staffing needs
  • A passion for process improvement. Youve built and scaled a recruitment and hiring process in previous positions and are continuously adjusting things with a desire to make good things great
  • The ability to maintain and manage strong relationships with hiring managers, candidates, and senior stakeholders within the agency
  • Thrive working in a collaborative environment and get along with all levels of leadership and team members
  • Current PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Prior involvement with progressive DE&I initiatives
  • Exposure and experience with the functional areas of people operations and talent
  • The ability to adapt and drive solutions under pressure and sometimes tight timelines
  • Outstanding project management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, in addition to organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and enjoy learning new software programs

BPI offers a comprehensive total compensation package for this role to include but not limited to a targeted base salary range of $75,000 - $115,000 and an annual discretionary bonus, and generous benefits. Actual base and bonus compensation will be determined by a wide variety of factors, such as skillset, level of experience, and other qualifications.
