World Central Kitchen, Inc. (WCK) seeks a talented and committed Manager, Accounts Payables to provide overall direction and guidance to the team processing accounts payable and vendor services. As a leader in a high performing and highly motivated team, the successful candidate must possess a high level of reliability, precision, and attention to detail, thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, and dynamic environment, and demonstrate proactive leadership and support.

This role will report to the Director, Finance, and lead a small team. This role requires a sincere commitment to WCKs mission, occasional travel, and the demonstrated ability to manage and develop an accurate accounts payable system including policies and procedures. This position is intended to be based in Washington DC; however, a remote location may be considered.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage, plan, and evaluate the accounts payable function of WCK, which includes development and implementation methods and procedures for monitoring work activities.
  • Manages maintenance of accounts payable ledger, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices and credits and providing cost allocations as necessary.
  • Assist, guide and instruct AP team members on non-routine policy interpretations or transaction problems which require resolutions.
  • May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
  • Implement reporting procedures and internal controls for the purpose of maintaining accurate records.
  • Research discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation for ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
  • Prepares reports on the status of payables and reconcile a variety of accounts and reports for ensuring accuracy.
  • Assist with month-end closing tasks, including monthly expense accruals.
  • Assist as needed with annual financial statement audit and other audits (unemployment taxes, etc.).
  • Assist as needed with scheduled processing and reports (1099, etc.).
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field; Accounts Payable certifications may be accepted for non-related degrees.
  • At least five years managing AP teams.
  • Experience in accounting operational standards, resolving problems, and identifying system improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, write and implement robust, actionable, and sometimes complex policies with both a departmental and organizational reach.
  • Proficiency with SAGE Intacct, Stampli, or related programs
  • English language fluency, written and verbal.
  • U.S. work authorization.

Preferred candidates will also have a demonstrated knowledge of accounting and generally accepted accounting practices and be proficient in Spanish.
