Fluent is looking for an experienced Manager of Data Science with a strong passion for leading teams and machine learning projects that assess and deliver actionable insights focused on driving business performance. As the Manger of Data Science, you will use your leadership skills, technology insight, business acumen and creativity to lead a team that builds machine learning algorithms to solve business problems, generate insight, and drive business performance. You will work cross functionally with a variety of teams across the organization and will have to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members. You will need to leverage presentation and visualizations tools to demonstrate what the machine learning algorithms are doing and how they are performing.

What You'll Do

• Lead a team of Data Scientists to deliver machine learning projects that drive business performance
• Develop and implement machine learning algorithms to solve business problems
• Design and implement scalable data processing and machine learning pipelines
• Collaborate with business, product, technology, and data teams to identify machine learning opportunities
• Evaluate and improve the performance of machine learning models
• Stay current with the latest developments in machine learning research and apply them to Fluents business problems
• Write clean, scalable, accurate, and maintainable code
• Communicate technical concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and team members
• Present findings to the business owners and senior leadership in a digestible and actionable format that will drive change and new initiatives across the company
• Develop strategies, best practices, process improvements, analytical frameworks, share expertise with others, mentor and continually strive to improve overall contributions to the department

Requirements

• Masters's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics a similar technical field of study with a specialization in Machine Learning, Data mining, or Data science
• 8+ years of industry experience in building production-grade machine learning systems with all aspects of research, model training, tuning, deploying, serving and monitoring
• Industry experience in ecommerce, recommender systems, digital marketing or two-sided marketplaces is a plus
• Experience in the following statistical areas - Bayesian methods, Reinforcement learning, Deep learning Architectures and Recommendation systems and if you have experience in ML for Ads or ecommerce it is a big plus
• Motivated and self-driven in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record demonstrating impact across organizations
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and manage tasks in a timely fashion
• Ideas, opinions, and the ability to share them through respectful proposals, presentations, and discussions

Salary Range: $150,000 to $200,000 - The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Fluent salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
