The Manual Machinist is responsible for running a manual Sharp Lathe, a Bridgeport 2 Axis with ACU-RITE Conversational programming controller, Experience with a Miltonics Conversational Controller a plus. These machines will be used for milling, drilling, tapping, turning, facing, threading as well as boring parts. Materials ranging from plastic to hardened tool steels and Stainless Steels. Candidates will be responsible for meeting deadlines to support the various functions of the Customer Support, Fabrication and Production Departments.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Safe operation of the manual lathe and Bridgeport vertical milling machine.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to pull up SLDPRT Files as well as SLDDRW Files in Solid Works, or the ability to learn.
  • Keeping machines maintained to preserve their operation life.
  • Reading Operating Manuals as needed.
  • Must wear necessary PPE.

Requirements

***This is an On-site, not a Remote job.***

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GEO or Equivalent
  • Minimum of two years machinist experience
  • Experienced reading blue prints
  • Experience solving mathematical equations and in match general
  • Able to read a tape measure
  • Experience reading calipers and micrometers
  • Experienced in the used of hand tools and measurement instruments
  • CNC experience a plus

Supervisory Responsibility - this position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment this job operates in a shop environment where exposure to heat is frequent.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work - this is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel this position does not have travel requirements.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must be able to pass a background check and drug test

Pay Rate Range: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour (Based on experience)
