Martin Docks, Inc., a leading dock construction company in North Georgia, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Material Handler/Floater. As a Material Handler/Floater, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of handling material between the purchasing department and the service department of our manufacturing and warehouse facilities. Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely movement of materials between receiving area and service department
- Receive daily work orders and verify the material is available for departments
- Perform quality checks on service materials and report any discrepancies
- Establish good/clear communication between the service and purchasing departments
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks using forklifts and other equipment
- Organize and maintain the service material area to maximize efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment
- Pick up and drop off materials for departments and/or job sites
- Ability to hitch and unhitch a trailer and pull a trailer with accurate driving skills
- Service work in other departments as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in records
- Ability to operate forklifts and other machinery safely
- Read, write and communicate in English
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Valid Drivers License
- Acceptable 3 year Motor Vehicle Report (company will pull the MVR and give a driving test with trailer)
- Drug Free (company provide drug test)
- Approved DOT Physical (company provided)
- Ability to work over 8 hours per day if needed - Monday through Friday
