Vision Point Systems, Inc. is currently recruiting for a talented, innovative Materials Engineer. This position is housed in our Fairfax, VA office but qualified candidates must being able to work onsite at various federal laboratories in the DC Metro area, when required. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Laboratory test plan development and execution.
• Field investigation.
• Data analysis.
• Technical writing.
• Maintain individual project schedule.
• Identify topics for new projects.
• Write white papers/proposals for projects.
• Meet with customers/sponsors to communicate and review new project ideas and solicit feedback.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelors degree in materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or other similar engineering degree from an accredited university or college is required
• The candidate must have demonstrated professional writing and presentation skills along with an excellent ability to collaborate with a team.
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• 1-4 years of applicable experience is required.
• Must be able to work at various locations in the DC Metro area.
• Must be able to travel on occasion
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills

• Experience working with and supporting US Navy and/or US Marine Corps programs is highly desired.
• Technical expertise in materials science/engineering (especially corrosion and coatings), electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and military vehicle/ship platforms is desired.
• Experience with data analysis and statistics is a plus.
