Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Dayton, Nevada
Salary: $70-90K
Job Summary of the Mechanical Design Engineer: The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and development process of mechanical systems and components. Your primary responsibility will be to create accurate and detailed CAD models and assemblies, technical drawings, and manufacturing plans. You will also be responsible for outlining, improving, and maintaining the manufacturing processes required to fabricate parts, assemblies, and final products. You will play an integral part in the quality plan, helping to ensure we deliver parts to defined standards and on-time.
Job Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
Utilize OnShape CAD software to design and create 3D models and assemblies, as well as detailed 2D drawing, assembly drawings, and assembly instructions.
Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and other technical documentation to produce accurate and precise drawings.
Collaborate with design engineers to convert conceptual models into practical, functional, and manufacturable product drawings.
Attend design reviews to identify and resolve potential issues related to manufacturability, assembly, and performance.
Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs).
Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Document manufacturing procedures and define job instructions based on production areas, products, and product lines.
Develop and maintain quality standards necessary for both new and existing products.
Collaborate with manufacturing team to define and implement production improvements.
Education & Experience of the Quality Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2-5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, product design, or similar.
Proven experience in mechanical drafting and design, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., OnShape, SolidWorks) and familiarity with other engineering software tools.
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to create accurate and precise technical drawings.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design and drafting issues.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Flexibility as specific job requirements may vary depending on the company and project needs.
