JOB DESCRIPTION:-

Typical task breakdown:

  • Approximately 40% of time spent receiving notification of new content and organizing, managing, and improving accessibility of content
  • Approximately 40% of time will be spent measuring quality of known content and communicating the need for correction to the engineering owners
  • Approximately 20% of time will be spent educating users in the navigation and best practice regarding platform supermodels.
  • Participation in multiple Product Development staff meetings is highly encouraged for personal visibility as well as information gathering of new product development endeavors.

Interaction with team:

  • Highly visible and approachable model quality managing authority for multiple LPSD engine platforms
  • Daily interaction with the 1000+ LPSD Product Development staff and all downstream consumers of 3-D product models
  • Weekly progress reporting, problem resolution, and strategy development discussions with Supermodel Process Owner

Work environment:

  • Lafayette, IN Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering office environment. Also, very near to manufacturing for comparison of virtual to real iron.
  • Supermodel Configuration Engineers have high-powered engineering workstations for management of very large Creo assemblies and can also be equipped with laptops for in-meeting demonstrations.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Engine Product Development experience. Minimum 5 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, but waived for equivalent experience (10+ years engine engineering)

Technical Skills Required Hard Skills and Experiences (Demonstratable):

  • Creo large assembly management
  • Teamcenter items and data
  • JT models, plmxml assemblies, and Vis MockUp software
  • Engine component function, spatial location, and system interaction

Top Candidates Will Also Have (these can be taught):

  • Moderate understanding of Commercial Engine Product terminology and processes
  • Skilled in Creo Family Table creation and management
  • Familiarity with all or multiple LPSD Market Applications - Marine, Petro, Elec Power, Rail, Industrial, Cat Machine

Required Soft Skills and Experiences:

  • Knowledge of LPSD organization structure, products, and engineering processes
  • Highly organized
  • Strategist and problem solver
  • Adherence to established processes
