Medical Billing Supervisor
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing processes, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing billing operations effectively. As a Medical Billing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the billing department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical claims, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities of the Medical Billing Supervisor
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of medical billing specialists, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and efficient communication within the billing department.
Billing Operations:
- Oversee the entire medical billing process, from charge entry to claim submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable management.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims to insurance companies and government entities.
- Monitor and analyze billing metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and revenue cycle management.
Compliance:
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations, billing codes, and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations, and implement measures to safeguard patient information.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy of billing data and minimize billing errors.
- Conduct regular audits of billing processes to identify and address discrepancies.
Staff Development:
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for billing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback to support the growth and development of team members.
Qualifications of Medical Billing Supervisor
- Proven experience in medical billing, with at least 5+ in a supervisory or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and reimbursement practices.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and MS Office applications.
Compensation of Medical Billing Supervisor
- $50-60k Dependent on Experience
