2nd Chance clinic is seeking a full time Medical Technologist for our physicians office Laboratory in Lexington KY. 2nd Chance is an independent, physician-owned clinic focused on treating patients who suffer from opiate addiction in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. We believe that everyone deserves a second chance.

The laboratory at 2nd Chance performs qualitative and quantitative toxicology analysis of urine specimens. We are seeking two individuals with experience working with in a toxicology laboratory as a technologist.

Job Duties:

  • Follow the laboratorys procedures for handling specimens, processing tests, analyzing tests, and reporting and maintaining records of patient results
  • Maintain records that demonstrate that PT samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples
  • Adhere to the laboratorys QC policies, and document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed
  • Follow the laboratorys established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratorys established acceptable levels of performance
  • Be capable of identifying problems that may affect test results adversely, and either correct the problems or report to designated personnel
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratorys established performance specifications
  • Assist with phlebotomy responsibilities if trained
  • Other duties as assigned by Laboratory Supervisor or Office Manager.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Science, Major in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science AND at least one year previous experience in a high complexity laboratory OR Associate degree in lab science or medical laboratory technology AND 2 years laboratory experience in high complexity testing REQUIRED(link removed)

Experience with LCMS preferred

Availability for evenings and Saturdays.
