Under the direction of an assigned monthly lead or supervisory employee, perform routine clerical and typing work.
Major Responsibilities EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
:
- Perform routine clerical and typing work related to the function to which assigned.
- Type letters, memor anda and other material from rough draft or clear copy.
- Check and review data for completeness and conformance with established regulations and procedures.
- Sort and file material alphabetically, numerically or chronologically as directed.
- Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail; send letters, applications, and forms.
- Assemble, collate and staple materials; maintain files.
- Duplicate quantities of materials as requested.
- Receive visitors; answer telephones; relieve and assist others including students, faculty and the public by providing routine information.
- Operate a variety of routine office equipment.
- Maintain simple files and records.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge:
- Modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
- Record-keeping techniques.
- Oral and written communications skills.
Skills and Abilities:
- Learn to operate office equipment.
- Learn office methods, rules and policies.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Basic keyboarding skills.
- Read and write English at the level required for successful job performance.
Training and Experience:
- Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.
