Join our dynamic team and help us manage the billing department at our growing, physician-owned medical practice. We are a thriving medical group of three clinics, an Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), and have plans to expand by adding more providers to our team. As the Billing Manager, you will play a key role in our success, ensuring the efficient and accurate management of our billing processes.
Responsibilities
As the Billing Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
Supervision: Oversee a team of billing staff, including remote workers, and ensure their performance meets our standards.
Electronic Medical Records: Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record Systems, specifically Nextech and IntelleChart PRO, is essential.
Schedule Management: Manage schedule templates to optimize billing efficiency.
Financial Expertise: Proficiently handle metric reports, interpret them, and make recommendations to the Administrator for process improvements.
Financial Reporting: Read and understand financial statements, and assist in the creation of monthly financial statements following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Insurance Liaison: Work closely with Insurance Company Representatives to address reimbursement issues.
Excel Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in writing and reading Excel spreadsheets to support billing operations.
Debt Management: Manage bad debt and promptly inform the Administrator about past-due accounts.
Quality Control: Verify the accuracy of the billing team's work and rectify any discrepancies as necessary.
Compliance: Educate staff on legal guidelines for collection procedures and ensure adherence.
Record Keeping: Maintain records of payments, billing, and ensure that patient records related to billing and payments are accurately preserved.
Patient Support: Provide assistance to patients with questions or concerns about their bills or the invoicing process.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
A bachelor's degree in business management, finance, accounting, economics, health, or a related discipline.
A proven track record of experience in a medical group billing department.
Expertise in the relevant healthcare sector.
