Join Keystone Allergy and Asthma Center as a Front Desk Receptionist and help with our commitment to deliver compassionate care and all-around excellence. We are seeking to hire a highly motivated Front Desk Receptionist. We are excited about finding the right person that will represent our medical office. As an Allergy Front Desk Medical Receptionist you will perform a wide variety of direct and indirect patient care activities. The ideal candidate must have a commitment to service and quality, and be able to multitask.

You will truly help to make a difference in our office and have an opportunity to grow with the practice. We would love the opportunity to have you join the Keystone Allergy and Asthma Center family.

As a startup, we expect to begin with a 4-days a week work schedule. This will likely turn into a 5-day schedule in 6 months. We are excited that you will have a chance to grow with us and benefit personally and professionally.

Job Duties:

- Follows office HIPAA, and OSHA, and Information Technology guidelines
- Use universal precautions as necessary, self protection, disposal, etc
- Welcomes and greets patients and visitors professionally and pleasantly, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Schedules patient appointments, explains to patients which pieces of information they are to bring or complete prior to an appointment, provides a range of potential charges for the visit and the patients estimated financial obligation, provides patients several scheduling options, follows approved scheduling guidelines, prepares and sends out all appropriate information to patients.
- Verifies insurance/eligibility information and ensures appropriate forms are signed, dated, and up to date.
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction, physician time, and treatment room utilization by notifying back-office staff when patients have arrived.
- Check out patients and collect payment from patients at the time of their visit and provides patients with a receipt. Collection should be made on past due balances as well as current dates of service.
- Ensures proper posting of charges into the EMR daily as assigned.
- Balances daily over-the-counter transactions and reconciles encounters with payment transactions; prepares deposit slips and delivers "daily close" packet to the Practice Manager.
- Scan records and ensures faxes are checked and redirected appropriately
- Records outcome of reminder calls made to patients scheduled for procedures and in-office appointments.
- Inspects equipment and facilities visually and physically to ensure patient safety and proper functioning. Maintains office equipment and office supplies in the front office areas.
- May also assist medical assistant with tasks
- Seeks guidance and instruction as needed, demonstrates willingness to learn and continue to grow, shows initiative, works independently and completes all required tasks, and performs other duties as assigned.
- Assist in social media and marketing projects
- Closes the office each day and maintains bathroom cleanliness, according to protocol.

Requirements:
- Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management, electronic medical record, and other computer software as it relates to job functions.
- Assists the clinical staff in contacting emergency services and participates in anaphylaxis drills as required. Helps to monitor patient waiting areas and facilitates proper patient flow.
- Attends all regular staff meetings.
- Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain soon after hire (company will pay)
- At least 3+ years of experience working in an outpatient medical office
- Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in computer applications and patient management softwares
- Medical terminology experience

Job Type: Full-Time position

Salary: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday to Thursday (Fri TBD in 6 months)
