The National Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring that the companys sales objectives across all regions in the country are met. This is a position that involves supervising the entire sales team of the organization.

This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
  • Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
  • Direct product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from the sales line.
  • Represents the company at trade association meetings to promote products.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Assists other departments within the organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Meet or exceed projected sales targets
  • Update monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
  • Ensure that there is sufficient supply and demand for the goods and services
  • Work with the marketing department to maximize sales
  • Hires and trains sales managers and staff.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules, territories, and performance of regional and local sales managers.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years experience in a Sales Leadership position, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience on the manufacturing side of security technology products

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to communicate clearly

MATH ABILITY:

  • The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Basic math skills for addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Office
  • CRM software
  • Sales performance management tools
  • Concur or similar expense software

This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Your salary/compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.

In the spirit of pay transparency, the OTE range for this position is between $180,000 to $240,000 annually.
