Position Summary:

The HCI Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of the system-wide Azure Stack Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (HCI) network. The Network Administrator will also be responsible for managing and deploying SDN technology. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing SDN solutions, monitoring network performance and security, and troubleshooting any network-related issues.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in a variety of network technologies and security protocols.

Additionally, may be asked to provide second level technical support escalation to the Softheon Helpdesk for the internal staff of Softheon.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure Stack HCI/SDN Infrastructure and underlying network
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network and system performance.
  • Analyze network traffic to identify and address security threats.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of Azure Stack HCI solutions.
  • Develop and implement network security policies and procedures.
  • Research new technologies and recommend upgrades for the network.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation.
  • Provide technical support to development team utilizing Azure Stack HCI environments.
  • Monitor network usage and capacity planning to ensure performance and availability.
  • Receive and coordinate resolutions to technical support calls and requests for the IT team.
  • Respond to, evaluate, and promptly resolve or escalate severity system and network outages.
  • Communication downtime, upgrades, and other information to appropriate teams as necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong etiquette for internal digital communications (email or ticketing)
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing simultaneous projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently, and in a team environment.
  • Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Azure networking experience required
  • Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure
  • Experience with network security tools and technologies
  • Experience in Deploying, managing, and maintaining an SDN environment
  • Azure network certification or equivalent
  • Proven experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of HCI networking technologies and protocols

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • CompTIA Network+
