Job Description:

  • Set the strategic direction and provide leadership for the design, engineering, and implementation of enterprise technology, solutions, systems, storage, network and telecommunications that are used as a basis for consolidating and standardizing infrastructure throughout and its affiliates. Interprets architecture requirements, design, product evaluations, selection, configuration, installation, testing and integration of new technology in order to better support the needs of and its affiliates. Effectively communicates technical solutions and designs to executive leadership.

 

Job Accountabilities

 

Network Engineering Standards:

  • Integrate new technologies into the existing infrastructure.
  • Re-design networks per Engineering standards and best practices.
  • Develop and implement solutions that meet business security requirements.
  • Participate in and lead enterprise standards meetings to discuss emerging technologies.
  • Work with Life Cycle team to quote, provision, and deploy upgrades.
  • Collaborate with facilities and business stakeholders to implement new network infrastructure.

 

Customer Service:

  • Perform on-going site reviews, lifecycle management, and facility remediation.
  • Remain current on new technologies via research and vendor information.
  • Identify new opportunities by understanding requirements from business and support teams.

 

Documentation:

  • Build and maintain documentation of medical facilities with required upgrades to perform Life Cycle replacements.
  • Document and update application diagrams in Visio drawings that are added to the support database.
  • Review documents for accuracy.

 

Skills:    

Preferred experience as typically acquired in:

  • 10+ years proven experience in the engineering, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of a wide range of networking, wireless, and security devices.
  • 10+ years experience working with change management practices.
  • 10+ years expert level experience in these core disciplines: Cisco software and hardware, medical facility infrastructure, layer 1 and power infrastructure.

 

Skills And Knowledge

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, IS team members, management, and executive personnel/staff.
  • Use basic English words and phrases to effectively and clearly organize and communicate thoughts and ideas.
  • Negotiate or exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions.
  • Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify patterns, tendencies, and relationships resulting in the formulation of logical and objective conclusions.

Transmission control protocol (TCP)/IP and open systems interconnection (OSI) model. Routing protocol enhanced interior gateway routing protocol (EiGRP), open shortest path first (OSPF), border gateway protocol (BGP). frame relay/asynchronous transfer mode (FR/ATM), point-to-point protocol (PPP), high-level data link control (HDLC), multi-link point-to-point protocol (MLPPP) and virtual local area network (VLAN). digital signal and transmission line (DS3/T3), DS1/T1, fast Ethernet (FAST E), gigabit Ethernet (Gig E), 10 gigabit Ethernet (10 Gig E) Cisco LAN/WAN, Wireless, Security
