The Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supporting the integrity of our clients corporate network. They administer, troubleshoot, and analyze various network devices, ensuring network and security maintenance tasks are performed effectively. The Network Engineer collaborates with the Cloud Services and Cybersecurity Team to uphold the security, integrity, and reliability of the network. This role also involves leading improvement initiatives and projects related to the network infrastructure. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include: Managing network hardware, including routers and switches. Planning and preparing for new site installations, including procurement, tracking, and installation of network equipment. Managing network application technologies for Identity Services and 802.1X. Testing and performing upgrades and patching of network appliances. Managing wireless technologies, including controllers and access points. Working with ISPs to monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity. Researching new technologies and methods for improving system and network reliability. Ensuring compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. Participating in a 24x7 on-call duty rotation. Enforcing organizational policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following qualifications: Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field (Experience in lieu of a degree will be accepted ~4+ years of experience in the Information Technology Field. Prior experience with Cisco network devices and phone systems. Specifically Routing and Switching Cisco Wireless Experience Prior experience with controller-managed access points. Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and commands. Prior experience with SD-WAN technologies. Can work independently, communicate effectively, and act as a Network Lead. Nice-to-haves: Prior experience with firewalls and security appliances. Familiarity with firewall devices from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, and Barracuda. Cisco Voice and Cisco Unity Experience SKILLS The following skills are required for this role: Active management of small and medium-scale projects. Strong understanding of network and server fundamentals. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites. Strong organizational and time management skills. Professional demeanor and effective communication (written and verbal Ability to maintain confidentiality.
