Job Title: Network Solutions Manager

Location Portland, OR

Duration 6 Months Contract

Note- MUST BE LOCATED IN PORTLAND... will be able to start remotely but must be able to commute into the office, eventually.

Duties:

Operates company's internal data communications systems. Plans, designs and implements local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP). Supports/troubleshoots highly complex network issues and coordinates with vendors for installation of such items as routers and switches. Incorporates a detailed understanding of internal and industry solutions to analyze business requirements and functional specifications at broad organizational levels. Assists in planning technical infrastructure and strategy. Meets with stakeholders to determine network requirements. Performs gap analysis and documents findings. Provides technical leadership & direction in project planning, cost analysis & vendor comparison. Design & provides technical assistance for complex activities. Mentors others and fosters collaboration and innovation.

• Design & deploy network infrastructure including routers, switches, console servers, load balancers, and optical transport equipment.
• Develop scalable network designs, solutions and policy recommendations
• Guide engagement with vendors and internal development teams (hardware and software) to deliver upon network innovations and expansions in your area of expertise
• Evaluate deployment architectures and translate them to internal and external requirements/roadmaps
• Contribute to plans and workflows for sustainable growth and performance across all aspects of network infrastructure
• Troubleshoot complex server, storage and networking problems.
• Responsible for achieving and documenting network standards.
• Serves as technical resource and mentor.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, clients and cross-functional teams regarding the implementation and maintenance of the environments
• Attends training courses as required and stay abreast of evolving internal processes and industry developments
• Provides other ad hoc support and duties as assigned

• Education: The ideal candidate would:
• Have a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
• Have 10+ years of experience in deploying network and security solutions, system engineering or network consulting.
• Have a strong background in automation/scripting to deploy network standards
• Worked with scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
• Be well versed in the latest industry best practices around network and security technologies.
• Have great verbal and written communication skills.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
