Position SummaryIn this position, the Nuc Med Technologist performs Nuc Med procedures in order to obtain desired imaging results according to physicians specifications that includes, but is not limited to, transferring patients for examinations, and assisting with the Nuc Med examiantion process.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesNuclear Medicine ProceduresResponsible for appropriate operation of all Nuclear Medicine Imaging and related equipmentAppropriately educates, positions, immobilizes and performs Nuclear Medicine proceduresCoordinates Nuclear Medicine examination to ensure timeliness, quality and continuity of patient careUnderstands and follows provider Imaging orders correctlySubmits required images and related clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretationAppropriately evaluates image qualityOpen, accurate, and responsive communication to patients, Appropriately utilizes, charges and maintains department suppliesPractices sterile technique and follows infection prevention policiesAbility to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlinesSafely performs Nuclear Medicine procedures including patient transferPrepares and administers Radioisotopes according to Radiologist protocolFollows Radiation Safety Measures (ALARA) to ensure patient and staff safetyMaintains adequate records of radioisotope receipts, use, storage and disposal in accordance with state and federal guidelines.coworkers, Radiologists and leadership.Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements: Requirements are representative of the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the positionNMTCB Certification or a ARRT/NM CertificationCurrent BLS certification or ability to obtain within three months of hireAbility to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional teamStrong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environmentExperience in understanding and usage of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position Shift: 4-10s, Variable, mostly nights; 7:30p-6:00a or 8:30p-7:00a, on call and holidays required Specialty Type: Diagnostic Imaging Sub Specialties: Radiologic Technologist,Nuclear Medicine Technologist,CT Technologist
