Position Description

Cardiovascular Cath Lab Manager Austin, TX

SHIFT Full-time Days 7-10 Hrs/Wkdays Only

This is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with more than 360 beds(link removed) The facility is home to St. Davids Childrens Hospital, St. Davids Womens Center of Texas featuring a Level III NICU, a Kidney Transplant Center, and the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery(link removed) Additional services offered at this medical center include 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.

St. Davids North Austin Medical Center is part of St. Davids HealthCare, which is one of the largest healthcare systems in Texas and the third-largest employer in the Austin area. St. Davids HealthCare was formed through a unique partnership between HCA Healthcare and two local non-profits St. Davids Foundation and Georgetown Health Foundation.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The manager provides supervision to assigned employees in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Pre/Post Cath Lab, and Endoscopy departments. The nurse manager coordinates unit/area clinical operations with other department disciplines. The nurse manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the areas and directs the activities of the nursing, technical, and support personnel in the areas in coordinating patient flow to assure quality patient outcomes.

The Manager of Invasive/Non-Invasive Cardiology will assist the Director with the day-to-day operations of the department.

  • You will supervise and manage the functions of the department to maintain the stated objectives of the hospital providing a high level of service to the patients.
  • You will directly supervise the staff and provide clinical expertise to these staff members.
  • You will function clinically in the cath lab at a superior level and mentors staff
  • You will assist with the interviewing process, performance evaluations, employee disciplinary process, departmental orientation process, initial and ongoing competency assessments, and other employee-related duties as assigned.
  • You will represent the hospital and department at a professional level at all times to all audiences, both internal and external

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related Cardiac Nursing experience, plus one year of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Previous EKG, Echo, Stress Testing Experience/Supervisor experience- preferred

Additional Information

  • Must have Cath Lab experience
  • FTE 8 in cath, 3 in echo, 3 EKG & 3 in pre/post
  • Oversight of 2 cath labs, 8 pre/post beds, 2 echo labs & EKG
  • Bachelor required (RN)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related Cardiac Nursing experience, plus one year of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Previous EKG, Echo, Stress Testing Experience/Supervisor experience- preferred
