Job duties: Performs age/diagnosis appropriate evaluation and re-assessments: Performs accurate patient evaluations/assessments in accordance with department and JCAHO guidelines. Based upon evaluation, makes recommendations for appropriate course of therapy and involves patient, family/caregiver and staff in goal setting based on prior level of functioning, age and cultural needs. Develops documented treatment plan and communicates plan to the staff, patient and /or family or caregiver. Performs discharge planning and timely discharge summaries in accordance with department and JCAHO guidelines. Implements age/diagnosis appropriate treatment: Effectively progresses and alters treatment plan to maximize patient potential. Plans, organizes and completes patient treatment/tasks in an efficient manner. Performs accurate and concise documentation following department and JCAHO guidelines. Makes accurate assessments of patient's progress daily and progresses treatment plan accordingly to age/related diagnosis. Completes documentation including verbal and written communication with physicians in a timely manner. Terminates services when maximum benefit has been achieved with input from physician and family/caregivers. Develops and maintains professional interpersonal relationships and communications: Maintains patient and staff confidentiality. Demonstrates flexibility through acceptance of changing conditions, procedures and regulations. Accepts constructive feedback in a positive manner, making changes as necessary to improve departmental operations. Supports and promotes interdisciplinary team approach as evidenced by documentation in record and feedback from staff. Meets and maintains department responsibilities: Assists in the maintenance of a current inventory and provides input/makes recommendations regarding the ordering/purchasing of new equipment and supplies. Informs the Rehabilitation Supervisor of any identified safety issues, while resolving those requiring immediate attention. Maintains patient treatment area in a manner which promotes safe and effective patient care. Delegates appropriate duties to Aides and Assistants following department and regulatory guidelines. Follows all Infection Control. Facilitates positive physician and other health provider relationships through anticipation of their needs as customers. Assists the Rehabilitation Supervisor in the development and marketing of new programs/services. Maintains department productivity requirements or accepts low census.

Education Requirement: US or foreign Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or any closely-related field of concentration or equivalent.

Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or any closely-related occupation.

Education or Experience must include:
1. Valid California OT license or eligibility for the state licensure
2. Experience in the treatment of physical disabilities and rehabilitation in an acute care setting.
3. Possesses positive customer service skills.
4. Knowledge in Infection Control

RATE OF PAY:$60.42 to $75.52 per hour
