We are seeking a meticulous and organized Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining precise payroll records. The Payroll Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring employees are compensated accurately, contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department. Responsibilities: - Payroll Processing:
- Accurately calculate and process employee salaries, wages, and deductions.
- Ensure timely and accurate distribution of payroll in accordance with established schedules.
- Recordkeeping:
- Maintain detailed records of employee hours, wages, and deductions.
- Update and reconcile payroll data regularly.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Process and submit payroll tax payments in a timely manner.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and generate payroll reports for management.
- Provide insights into payroll-related trends and variances.
- New Hire Onboarding:
- Assist in the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring accurate setup in the payroll system.
- Verify and process necessary documentation for new hires.
- Compliance and Audits:
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during payroll audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications: - Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with payroll processing software and systems.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll calculations.
- Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
