Job Overview:

The Video Director is responsible for the video creative ideation and execution of a project, from inception to completion. Working closely with creative leads, the project manager, and the video team to ensure our creative delivery reflects our brand vision and client goals.


***This a hybrid role that requires 3 days per week in the NYC office. There is no option to be fully remote.***



Key Responsibilities:


Brand Identity:

Understand the brand's values, personality, visual identity, and tone of voice.

Ensure correct branding and consistency throughout all video outputs.

Video Direction:

Develop and communicate clear video direction for video projects.

Creative Presentation:

Produce mood board or storyboard based on creative ideas confidently present and articulate rationale of ideas to clients.

Creative Execution:

Oversee the creation of visual assets and video production, ensuring they meet our quality standards, brand guidelines and project objectives and deadlines.

Have overall sign-off on the appearance of the final product.

Camera Operations, Lighting and Equipment:

Capture high-quality footage in various settings, including interviews, events and on-location shoots when required.

Operate and maintain video equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio recording devices.

Ensure the camera work and lighting set up meets the creative vision, brand guidelines, storytelling, and project goal.

Maintain equipment inventory.

Video Editing:

Edit and enhance raw video footage, including color correction, and visual effects to produce polished and professional videos when required.

Ensure strong storytelling through editing video content.

Organize and maintain all the video editing assets.

Archive project once it is completed.

Quality Management:

Responsible for quality control from pre-production, production to post-production.

Provide clear and constructive feedback to the team to ensure the best outputs that meet our quality standards.

Quality Improvement:

Seek feedback and conduct post-campaign analysis on the performance of video projects to inform future improvements.

Always strive to improve quality and results.

Creative Process:

Manage project priorities and workflow effectively.

Identify and prioritize critical projects based on client needs, deadlines, and overall campaign objectives.

Balance competing priorities and inform on required resources to ensure that each project receives the necessary attention and skills needed to meet its objectives.

Proactively anticipate and address potential project roadblocks or obstacles to ensure that the project stays on track.

Keep our project management system updated with time spent and project progress.

Ensure our processes are followed consistently throughout the project journey.

Adhere to the allocated time scheduled and key project milestones.

Leadership:

Lead and inspire our video team, providing guidance and support to help them grow.

Develop the abilities of team members through mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities.

Encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members, promoting an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

Video Standards:

Implement Oliver Wyman video guidelines and best practices for consistency and quality.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other teams to understand project goals and milestones and provide creative solutions.

Keep all internal/external stakeholders and Producer updated on project progress.

Collaborate with copywriter,artdirector, videographer, video editor and motion designer as well as cross-functional teams, including the design & web team and marketers.

Trends and Innovation:

Stay updated on creative industry trends and new technologies, applying them to enhance our creative and production approach.

Ensure that the video team also stays up to date with video trends and best practice.


Requirements:



Video Creative and Execution
Have excellent storytelling and video conceptual skills and able to set video direction as well as execute the project from beginning to the end.


Script Editing
Must have script editing skills to review and edit scripts for video projects. This includes ensuring the clarity and coherence of the dialogue, refining the structure and pacing of the narrative, and improving the overall flow of the script.


Ownership and Responsibility
Have strong ownership and responsibility for the quality and success of the project, ensuring that it is delivered on time and meets the client's requirements and Oliver Wyman standards.


Eye for Detail
Have a keen eye for detail being able to spot errors or inconsistencies, and a commitment to delivering exceptional on-brand video outputs.


Communication
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present and articulate video idea to clients and stakeholders. Clear and effective communication is also essential to provide feedback to the video team.

Must have the ability to analyze project requirements, evaluate creative solutions, and think creatively to develop effective visual solutions.


Strategic thinking
Be able to think strategically and align creative solutions with the overall business goals and objectives. Must have a strong understanding of the business and its target audience to create ideas that resonate with them and effectively communicate the intended message.


Project Management
Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills are required to delegate tasks effectively when needed to ensure the project's success.

Be able to identify and anticipate potential project roadblocks or challenges and provide innovative solutions.

Strong leadership skills are needed to manage, motivate, and guide the team effectively. Be able to provide constructive feedback, mentor, inspire creativity, and encourage collaboration.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $147,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
