Oncology Nurse - RN
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 13 weeks contract
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Administrative Nurse and the medical staff, the Practice Nurse will be responsible for coordinating patient care and managing the patient flow within the Hematology/BMT Practice.
The nurse will provide clinical support for faculty and nurse practitioners within the practice and take the lead role in integrating all aspects of the clinical session in order to ensure timeliness and efficiency of each patient visit. S/he will utilize the administrative and hospital assistant staff to delegate tasks related to patient intake and rooming of patients. This position is scheduled to work 5 days M-F, 8 hours per day.
The nurse will coordinate communication among providers, administrative staff, infusion unit, laboratory, BMT staff to ensure efficient patient flow. S/he will triage and manage clinical telephone inquiries and patient situations that occur within the practice. S/he will perform nursing assessments, provide direct patient care and conduct patient /family teaching according to patient needs.
Required Qualifications
Two years' experience in a Hematology and/or oncology setting
Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
Strong verbal and written skills
Proficient in MS Office (inc Excel, Word, Outlook)
The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
Preferred Qualifications
Blood and Marrow Transplant experience
Outpatient experience
Proficient in Epic
Licensure/Certification
Active Registered Nurse licensure
Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
