Operations Excellence Project Specialist Location: US-CA-Cerritos Email this job to a friend

Manages and oversees all aspects of a project to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. Has overall responsibility for tracking project scope, costs, schedule, resource allocation, internal staffing and outside vendors. Works closely with different department heads or other key stakeholders to gather information, schedule meetings and follow up on action items. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of projects.
Duties and Responsibilities - Manage and coordinate all activities leading to the successful completion of projects, including project scoping, timelines, cost estimates, and design.
- Develop and maintain project parameters for project requirements.
- Provide direction to contractors, consultants, and project teams.
- Optimizes or redesigns project flows to meet project requirements.
- Maintain all project related documents.
- Write SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for various projects/departments
- Coordinates input from and participation with various other departments within the company as needed to meet project objectives.
- Analyze and determine requirements of the project.
- Support in building business cases.
- Track team and project goals and evaluate performance.
- Participate in research and evaluation of available contractors and consultants.
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to inform planning processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements - Bachelors degree or Certificate in Project Management or at least one year of project management or comparable experience
- Project management knowledge, knowledge of PMI process a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite platform, GSuite platform or other project management tools
- Strong knowledge of systems platforms and their interfaces
- Good familiarity with company processes and SOPs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present complex information to senior leaders or interested parties
- Ability to work with a variety of management personalities and leadership styles
- Influence others without stated authority
- Critical thinking and ability to do root cause analysis
- Strong organization and planning skills
Benefits Expected pay scale $60,000 - $75,000 a year
