Responsibilities include:

• Take patient's medical histories, perform workups, and perform ophthalmic diagnostic exams to obtain the information needed for the provider to determine a diagnosis
• Assist providers in performing ophthalmic procedures and by performing clinical functions, such as room flow, status communication to patient and provider
• May instruct the patient in the care and treatment of eye conditions, apply dressings to the eye, as well as assist medical providers with documentation of exam data.
• Triages phone calls from patients and outside contacts in accordance with the standard of care for Ophthalmology and office policies.

Requirements

• Basic math skills
• Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office products, and strong keyboarding skills.
• Flexibility to effectively work alone or in a team
• Demonstrated multitasking and adaptability
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Attention to details
• Drive for exemplary customer service
• Enjoy working with the elderly population
• Comfortable with communication via phone, internet, and in-person
• Maintain and follow HIPAA procedures and policies
• Preferred by not required, basic knowledge of medical terminology
