CAC is in search of a few Optical Technicians, who can work for our direct client as part of their Assembly, Cleanroom, Inspection or Optical Fabrication Units. In the responsibilities section below you will find two different lists of what the client is looking for in each unit. This particular position will compliment many individuals because of the training in cGMPs and GMPs which is a highly soft after skill set for many organizations. This individual will be able to work alone or as part of a team, and be able to follow specific procedures and training. We seek highly motivated, skilled & innovative individuals with a sincere passion and a desire to learn. Job responsibilities and skills required include fabrication of optical components, calculations, inspection, precision alignment, adjustment, final testing and verification of opto-mechanical components and assemblies. Optical Tech II - Fabrication - 24.00 per/hr

• Payrate: 24.00 per/hr OT at 1.5


• Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Requirements / Responsibilities

• General Duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to:


• Conventional polishing using pitch laps, working to tolerance 1/10 wave. Knowledge of using test plates, interferometers and optical inspection


• Perform manufacturing tasks and activities, as trained, and in compliance with work instructions.


• Complete production logistics by moving / transacting materials and information through the computer-based production system.


• Monitor processes; includes recording and charting data.


• Perform calculations, quality tests, measurements, and inspections.


• Clean and prepare material and parts.


• Interface with plant systems (e.g. document control system, manufacturing execution system, optical testing software, etc.).


• Responsible for housekeeping and autonomous maintenance of work area and equipment


• Good written and oral communication skills


• Exceptional fine motor skills and attention to detail


• Strong PC skills and ability to operate electronic equipment


• Superior technical and diagnostic skills


• Able to work in a team environment


• Actively engage in continuous improvement and cost reduction programs


• Dedicated to the job. Willing to work off hours to ensure product is completed on schedule

General Requirements needed for all of the above positions

• High School Diploma/GED is required Technical degree is preferred.


• 2+ years of previous experience in a manufacturing or technical environment required


• 2+ years of optical testing required


• Prior experience in a clean room environment preferred


• Knowledge of 5S and lean concepts beneficial


• Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal


• Required to work in temperature controlled environments.


• Required to wear Safety glasses and safety shoes


• Required to be able to lift 15- 25 pounds


• Required to sit or stand for extended periods


• Required to be willing to work overtime


• Candidates must meet DoD/ITAR requirements

• *PPE: Steel toe shoes, safety glasses (non-prescription provided), clean room gown (provided). PLEASE NOTE: Steel toe shoes will not be reimbursed
