We are seeking an experienced, caring optometrist to join our well established Optical business in Inwood/Washington Heights area in Manhattan. In this role, you will ensure excellence in patient care by conducting eye exams, addressing issues of disease and/or injury, and educating patients regarding their eye care options. You will treat patients with compassion and work collaboratively with the rest of our staff to meet all their needs. Successful candidates will have a proven record of excellent patient care and a valid state license to practice optometry. Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

 

• Perform standard eye exams for patients on a daily basis


• Check for evidence of disease, injury, or other problems impacting vision


• Provide prescriptions for corrective lenses as needed


• Listen to and address patient’s questions and concerns


• Educate patients regarding the eyecare and vision correction options


• Analyze results from all tests conducted and share results with patients


• Prescribe medications when needed


• Utilize all necessary equipment properly, ensuring it is in good working order


• Coordinate with the rest of the staff as needed to meet patient’s’ needs


• Check prescription and fit of corrective lenses


• Record all tests, prescriptions, and treatments in patient chart


• Participate in staff development and training


• Refer patients to trusted specialists as needed
