Job Title: Oracle DBA
Location: Raleigh NC (Remote Role)
Duration: Long Term Contract
NOTE: This is a Shift and Weekend position. Shift will be Thursday / Friday 3pm 11:30pm ET and Saturday /Sunday 7am-7pm ET. Must be willing to work an on-call shift in rotation.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with strong administrative and technical knowledge to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in RALEIGH, NC. Full time remote work may be considered for the perfect candidate. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with large, multi-node RAC environments.
NOTE: This position does allow for flexible remote work, but candidates MUST be willing to report in person to Raleigh, NC for the first 2-3 (estimated) days to pick up equipment and ensure that all access is available. This would be at no cost to Peraton or the customer. After these initial days they would be able to work remote.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Overall maintenance, administration, monitoring, problem management, and production for Oracle databases.
Daily maintenance including monitoring and database maintenance tasks
Database Upgrades to include working with project managers and managing individual projects for DB upgrades.
Backup & Recovery
Apply patches and upgrade database versions
Support customers during code deployment
Maintaining Standby Databases
Install and Build database structures
Develop and maintain shell scripts
Query and performance tuning
Develop and maintain documentation
Program in PL/SQL
Performance tuning of databases
Reviews database design and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
Maintains security and integrity controls.
Develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree and minimum 6 years experience. Additional experience may be substituted for degree.
Minimum of 6 years of Oracle production support DBA experience; specifically, RAC and other Oracle tools
Support for PostgreSQL
PROVEN experience with Oracle 19c databases.
Knowledge or experience with Oracle on Windows.
Familiarity with architecture, both logical and physical design
MUST be flexible and willing to work overnights and weekends as needed.
Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) and must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years.
Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years
