Sr. Organic Chemist (India & US)


Roles and Responsibilities

Performing multistep organic synthesis and small molecule analysis

Preparative Thin Layer Chromatography and flash column chromatography are used to purify compounds.

Manufacturing products according to established procedures, recording data, interpreting results, and validating data quality.

Using traditional synthetic chemical techniques, performing routine chemical procedures involving organic chemistry, HPLC, TLC, and MS analysis of chemical compounds.

Working safely and in compliance with all applicable federal and local regulations, following written or electronic procedures, and monitoring quality control

Ensuring that products are produced on time.

Assisting with general lab functions such as equipment maintenance, product quality, packaging, on-time delivery of products, ensuring workplace cleanliness, and good general laboratory techniques.

Operate NMR, GC, HPLC, and LC-MS instruments correctly

Contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing methods

Duties include, but are not limited to, any other duties that may be assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Tests materials using a variety of equipment, including a pH meter, FTIR, HPLC, GC, HPTLC, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, auto titrators, and balances, as assigned by QC management on a daily basis.

Sets up, runs, and troubleshoots instrumentation independently.

Responsible for data interpretation and reporting.

Updates SOPs as needed.

Provides direction to technicians.

Records and assesses the completeness of data and documentation.

Launches out-of-spec investigations.

Handles a variety of housekeeping tasks in the lab, such as disposing of hazardous waste and instrument PM.

Meets safety and cGMP requirements.



Safety Declaration:

Promotes a culture of safe laboratory operations by adhering to all safety rules and procedures.

Takes an active role in the safety program by participating in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard.

Reporting safety concerns to management or safety teams, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting workplace health and safety hazards to the appropriate people until they are resolved.

Assists in the dissemination of safety information to new employees. Performs duties as outlined in the company's safety management plan.



Qualifications:

Reading and interpreting documents such as product specifications, departmental instructions, and procedure manuals

Capable of communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

Strong problem-solving abilities are required.

Capable of comparing obtained results to specifications to determine if the result meets requirements.

Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Must have a professional

Desired Candidate Profile

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B.S.)or it'ss equivalent from a four-year college or technical school in the field of laboratory science (i.e. chemistry, biology, etc.)

A BS/MS level chemist with at least one year of experience in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory is required.

Knowledge of general laboratory equipment, including hands-on instrumental analysis (FTIR, FT-NIR, HPLC, HPTLC, GC, ICP/MS, ICP/OES, and UV/Vis).

Familiarity with techniques such as mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance, high-performance liquid chromatography, and column chromatography.

Knowledge of general laboratory safety, procedures, and instrumentation.

Strong computer skills are required.

Understanding of cGMP regulations.

Understanding of chemical laboratory instrumentation.

A candidate with experience in Nucleic acid/Phosphonamidite Chemistry will be given preference.



The candidate has a B1 & B2 visa and is able to travel to the US for 6 months
