Title - Organizational Change Management Specialist Pay rate - $75/hr on W2 Worksite Address: Chelsea, MA (Local candidates preferred. If out of state, must be willing to adhere to same hybrid/in office schedule as staff (currently biweekly) up to possibly once per week commute to MA Engagement Length: 1 year; contract w/option to extend

Role summary

The SDLC OCM is responsible for helping internal and external individuals prepare and process change that will occur because of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) modernization project for the Clients application and the Program Team. The role is focused on the people side of the change, how to properly prepare them, how to effectively implement and ultimately measure the success throughout the effort through to implementation. This role supports IT and Business leadership by defining and implementing a proven approach to support all individuals in all teams s through the change process in a consistent methodology. The OCM Lead will assist stakeholders in managing all aspects of change associated with the SDLC Modernization Project's initiative to align with business processes, systems and technology, job functions and organizational structure. This includes oversight and leadership of all organizational change management activities and working with project teams and leadership to ensure adoption, utilization, and proficiency of the changes across the SDLC teams to increase benefit realization, value creation and achievement of desired results and outcomes. The OCM Lead will work in partnership with Program Leadership, Project Management and Process Engineer.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Design, develop and help implement a change management strategy, plans and roadmaps in support of the SDLC Modernization Project
  • Assess teams and individuals' readiness and complete overall change management assessment
  • Perform/assess stakeholder and change impact analysis, identifying potential impacts/risks associated with the project
  • Assess individuals' readiness for the change by identifying risks, points of resistance and recommend remediation strategy to overcome and resolve
  • Develop an actionable plan and apply methods for addressing resistance to change in collaboration with project and program leadership based on the findings of stakeholder analyses, interviews, change readiness and impact analyses and other relevant assessments
  • Manage resolution of potential obstacles in collaboration with program and project leadership and help guide in mitigation planning or resolution
  • Develop necessary OCM trainings and workshops to assist with adoption of the change using proven OCM methods and process
  • Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to ensure the development of any necessary training requirements and recommend alternative training strategies for consideration of decision-makers
  • Develop and help execute an effective communication strategy and plan including writing, distributing, and reinforcing project communications and develop and monitor appropriate feedback mechanisms throughout the effort
  • Plan and facilitate meetings, lead discussions, as required
  • Help to resolve conflict as required
  • Continuously collaborate with the Process Engineer and Project Team to promote alignment and partnership throughout the project in preparation for implementation
  • Provide status reports and updates throughout the engagement

Required Experience

  • 3+ years' OCM experience in business, technical or project leadership experience, preferably working with SDLC changes or other technology changes
  • Formal training with industry standard organization change management methodology (example: Kotter, Lewin's, ADKAR, Kuber-Ross, etc)
  • Equivalent experience in organizational change methodology at 5 or more companies
  • One or more certification as a leadership transformation coach or change management practitioner
  • Ability to interact with leadership and staff at all levels with strong interpersonal skillsets
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, and written communication
  • Experience managing change within a large organization
  • Skilled at setting and communicating priorities effectively; able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Skilled at removing barriers and acting with a sense of urgency and encouraging others to do so
  • Skilled at conflict resolution and problem solving to achieve win-win outcomes
  • Ability to lead through influence and collaboration

Desired Experience

  • Familiarity with managing technology projects and/or operations at scale in an Agile Methodology
  • Exceptional listener, able to comprehend what is said and probe for important details
  • Exceptional ability to communicate technical or complex subject matters in business terms
  • Possess a hands-on, collaborative style with heavy focus on stakeholder engagement
