The Veterinary Client Patient Coordinator serves a vital role by supporting our emergency clients directly and advocating for our patients, as well as acting as communications liaison for our referring veterinary hospitals.

Emergency Veterinary Client Patient Coordinators have the opportunity to earn $16.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on experience(link removed)>

Strategic Focus

You will be responsible for 4 major roles at Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic:

  • Client communication, education, and relationship management
  • Participate in month team training courses.
  • Assisting the veterinary team as needed
  • Maintain a professional, clean, and organized work environment.

Tactical Focus

  • Greets clients and patients in a friendly and professional manner demonstrating poise and natural effort, quickly attending to client needs.
  • Administrative duties such as medical record-keeping and facilitating financial transactions.
  • Perform physical assessments; record observations legibly in files or computer
  • Effectively restrain patients even when large or difficult patients.
  • Prepare Treatment Plans for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients supporting hospital financial policies.

Requirements

The ideal Client Patient Coordinator must:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in the veterinary field
  • Willing to work long and irregular hours to include overnights, weekends, and rotating major holidays required
  • Ability to adhere to attendance policy.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and open communication while helping clients whose pets have urgent medical problems.
  • Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members.
  • Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions.
  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone.
  • Fine motor skills adequate for nursing skills such as phlebotomy and utilizing hospital equipment such as fax machine, computers, radiology equipment, laboratory equipment etc.
