Slows Bar BQ, the award winning barbecue business based in Detroit is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the PM operations of its production kitchen. The PM Kitchen Manager will be responsible for closing the kitchen after completing the daily tasks and setting up the kitchen for the AM team. Strong candidates have experience managing large scale production and leading a team of cooks to achieve daily goals while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities - Maintain an effective and efficient kitchen team
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in food quality, preparation, and presentation
- Manage inventory and food costs to maintain profitability
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and standards
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment and supplies to ensure functionality and cleanliness
- Ensure accurate production following standardized recipes while minimizing any waste.
Requirements - 3+ years of relevant kitchen experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- In-depth knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to effectively manage a team, including scheduling and performance management
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle high-stress situations in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards
- A passion for providing exceptional culinary experiences to guests
