Maintains and cares for Bread Loaf Campus grounds and facilities. This Part-Time job maintains and cleans, picks up and delivers materials, furniture and equipment to campus buildings from April - November at Bread Loaf Campus.

This is a full time, hourly, non-benefit eligible, seasonal position from May to November. The starting pay for this position will be $19.15 and $21.00 per hour. This position is eligible for a sign on bonus and shift differential pay as well.

  • Weekly shifts include some evenings, nights and/or weekend assignments.
  • Clean and disinfect all areas of all buildings including the break room, offices, restrooms.
  • Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, and walls.
  • Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones.
  • Maintain cleaning inventory.
  • Maintain outdoor grounds, cut grass, trim bushes, pick up trash, maintain common walkways and patio.
  • Remove debris and snow from sidewalks.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins, stock and maintain supply rooms.
  • Perform minor repairs on machinery, equipment, and tools.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms including toilets, sinks, showers, etc.
  • Wash and clean windows and mirrors.
  • Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions.
  • Operate floor scrubbers and other equipment.
  • Dust furniture and fixtures.
  • Wipe tables, countertops and sinks and common areas.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • All other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements

    • Must have knowledge of proper use of equipment and the ability and willingness to learn to maintain all equipment used.
    • High school education preferred.
    • Organizational skills required.
    • Must have a valid driver's license, have ability to get a College license and a good driving record.
    • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and be able to respond to a high volume of requests.
    • General building maintenance, housekeeping, lawn mowing, trailer use and snow removal is preferred.
    • Good interpersonal skills and must be a self starter. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written communications.

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

    • Must be able to do the following tasks occasionally: lift up to 100 lbs.; push up to 110 lbs.; pull up to 190 lbs.; carry up to 100 lbs.; crouch/kneel, twist/turn, reach and balance; use finger to operate controls on power tools or truck;
    • Must be able to do the following tasks on rare occasions: crawl, sit and withstand vibration of hand drills on rare occasions
    • Must be able to do the following tasks frequently: lift 40-80 lbs.; push and pull up to 50 lbs.; carry 40 -80 lbs.; bend, squat and climb stairs.
    • Must be able to do the following tasks constantly: walking, standing, material handling (such as grip force of 80 lbs. with one hand to pull heavy loads on a dolly).
