At Buff Brew, our mission is to brew creative, high-quality beer for our taproom as well as for distribution into the market. After weeks of brewing & fermenting, our packaging team is where the rubber meets road, keeping the line running so we can fulfill orders on time. All the care we put into the process can be erased instantly with a lousy packaging run, so we are looking for someone who runs a tight ship & has a hawk-like attention to detail. We seek out intellectually curious individuals who relish the challenge of extremely high standards without getting flustered by the fact that we are constantly improvising and revising the plan based on new information. Our equipment requires skill and knowledge to operate properly, so experience is a must. In addition, our packaging team is critical to our success, so a successful applicant also will fit in with our existing team and support the culture we are developing here. We will accept applications for all skill levels, with a specific goal of considering highly experienced candidates for lead positions.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and improve all aspects of our Packaging Team
Oversee all day-to-day packaging operation, including scheduling, canning, kegging, cleaning, etc.
Translate the production plan into clear team goals
Monitor team performance and report on metrics
Delegate tasks and set deadlines
Motivate team members
Create and maintain standard operating procedures
Ability to manage consistency, availability, and quality of the end product
Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
Discover training needs and provide coaching
Listen to team members feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
Encourage creativity and risk-taking
Work collaboratively with staff and lead warehousing initiatives
Requirements
Min. 4 years of directly relevant experience
Experience in the beverage industry is a plus
Proven ability to collaborate & problem-solve under pressure
Ability to operate with minimal supervision
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
Robust personal productivity system
Proficient with core MS Office Products
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is that of a brewing and packaging facility
The noise level in the packaging facilities is frequently loud (80+ dB)
The employee handles hazardous materials.
The employee works near moving mechanical parts.
The employee works on wet floors and with wet equipment.
