Houston Headquarters

Our industry-leading research and design team, as well as all primary administrative departments, are based out of our Houston office, located near I-10 & 6-10 in Spring Branch, Houston, Texas.

Summary

The Panel Wireman is a well-rounded individual who looks forward to new challenges and opportunities in the world of electrical assembly and wiring of industrial controls, skids, and motors. The person accepting this full-time position will be resourceful, independent, goal-driven, and most importantly, a team player. This a position that will receive on-the-job training and advancement to testing and troubleshooting.

Reports to: Senior Controls Manager

Location: This position will be based out of the Houston Headquarters.

Travel Required: Travel time to be 5% or less.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Wire semi-complex electrical panels in a complete assembly build with minimal supervision.
  • Mount components and panel wiring, including labeling per schematic.
  • Assemble and inspect system components with a high level of attention to detail and quality.
  • Operate various hand and power tools, including drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, soldering guns, crimpers, etc.
  • Independently point-to-point test and diagnose basic issues and deficiencies.
  • Adhere to HSE standards.
  • Maintain work area daily.
  • Interact professionally with staff on a regular basis.

Requirements

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of related experience with the following:

  • Systems ranging from 120VAC to 480VAC, 24VDC, and analog signals
  • Panel building and wiring
  • DMM and basic electrical tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical wiring training or certification
  • Basic computer skills (email, online forms, etc.)
  • Ability and/or desire to learn to function test the product that is built/wired, including programming PLCs and VFDs
  • Working or basic knowledge of PLC / VFD circuits and hardware
  • Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Provide your own personal trade tools (preferred, but not required)

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to inspect electrical control panels, point to point etc.
  • Ability to follow instructions and independently function to meet departmental requirements within a defined time frame.
  • Motor lead terminations.
  • Drilling, tapping, and cutting holes in metal enclosures.
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Identify unsafe conditions or potential hazards within the work environment.
