This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Full-Time Panhandle PBS Associate Content Producer who will be all-in on our mission and who will contribute to the stations content creation, including projects for television broadcast, dissemination online and various social media platforms.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Associates Degree in Media Production, Videography, Cinematography, Film & Media Studies, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Media Production, Videography, Cinematography, Film & Media Studies, Communications, Journalism or related field.

EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 5 years of experience in video production, broadcast, public television, content creation or a combination of a Bachelors Degree in broadcast journalism, communication or related field with at least 2 years of professional experience. (A combination of experience and college credit will be considered)
  • Preferred: Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

  • Valid Texas Drivers License with a 3-year safe driving record.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with a team of video producers, writers, editors, designers, and motion graphics artists to build and produce compelling content.
  • Serve as the producer for major content initiatives and projects.
  • Work with staff, station advisory board members and community leaders to develop and produce on-air and online programs, stories and content.
  • Collaborate with Panhandle PBS leadership to develop station promotions, marketing plans and strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on digital trends to ensure relevancy and audience growth for Panhandle PBS online and social presence.
  • Create, develop, and research content ideas to meet stations missions and goals.
  • Assist with PBS events.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must be a good writer and storyteller
  • Must be able to understand content production and workflows and social media best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the Texas Panhandle and PBS.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and motion graphics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: Amarillo College - Salary Schedules((link removed), Pay grade 10 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies and other heavy equipment as needed.

Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, Adobe and various other business, design, and educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
