Job Title: Paralegal
Location: Worcester, MA,01604
Duration: 2 Months + (Possibility Of Extension)
Pay Rate- $ 20/hr.
Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and legal department in coordinating internal and external meetings, assessing
  • Responding to legal inquiries, and preparing internal and external correspondence and other materials as needed.
  • Support Legal and Commission staff in the preparation and conduct of public meetings, including the drafting and finalizing of the minutes.
  • Assist the Public Records Access Officer and prepare and respond to public records requests and other compulsory legal processes, e.g., subpoenas.
  • Assist attorneys in minute-taking at Commission meetings and subsequently drafting and finalizing the edited Commission meeting minutes.
  • Assist attorneys with legal contracts resulting from procurement, which may include reviewing contracts
  • Ensuring all contracts are signed by appropriate parties in a timely manner, and maintaining copies of contracts in the legal files.
  • Assist attorneys in developing and managing Dynamics caseload, which may include reviewing and triaging matters in consultation with the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and other legal staff
  • General administrative duties, scheduling, and meeting notes.
  • Maintain the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct and support the Commission's goals for a diverse and culturally aware workforce.
  • Maintenance of the legal files (electronic and paper) and organization of files and tracking of legal inquiries;
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
  • Bachelor's Degree and Paralegal Certificate required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal in a law firm, corporation, or government agency; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a law firm and/or governmental agency.
  • Experience with administrative and regulatory law specifically the Open Meeting Law, and Public Records Law.
  • Experience with Public Records, Public Meetings, and Procurements and Contracts.
  • Proficiency in tracking legal cases and projects in a case management system.
  • Experience in handling highly sensitive and confidential information;
  • Ability to exercise discretion in handling such information
  • Knowledge of how to handle information protected under state and possibly federal laws protecting private and/or confidential information
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office and experience with project management tools/systems.
