Beltway Companies, the largest commercial truck dealership in the state of Maryland, offers full-service truck and warranty repairs for International trucks, Jerr-Dan bodies, Kalmar-Ottawa yard jockies, Cummins engines, and Eaton and Meritor drivetrains. We take the hassle out of truck operations with more than 92 service bays and over $3 million in stocked parts. Locations include Annapolis, Baltimore, Cumberland, Elkton, Frederick, Hagerstown, and Idealease of Baltimore. Our warehouse associates are an integral part of managing our parts inventory so we can deliver best-in-class service. The responsibility is to satisfy dealership customer parts needs by responding to information inquiries, supplying parts from dealership inventory and/or procuring parts that are not in stock, per dealership guidelines. Additional responsibilities are to assist with inventory stocking and department maintenance as necessary. We have an immediate opening for a warehouse associate at our Idealease of Baltimore location. POSITION OVERVIEW Places and processes daily parts orders Stocks and posts incoming orders Works cross-departmentally to control inventory, both physically and electronically Assists in preparing for and performing annual parts inventory Keeps parts area clean and uncluttered and organized Assists counter sales reps and with telephone coverage as needed Duties and Responsibilities Responding to customer parts or information requests quickly Communicating with customers when a delay in response will occur and offering alternatives Recording information carefully and identifying needed parts using most efficient method Determining availability and price information and documenting this information as necessary Providing part to customer from stock, procuring locally or creating a parts order as directed Correctly documenting and completing part sale on parts invoice Monitoring the status of customer orders, advising in case of problems and notifying upon arrival Inventory control maintenance as directed by Parts Manager, including bin check and correction General department organization and maintenance duties as directed by Parts Manager RequirementsIDEAL WORK QUALITIES & REQUIREMENTS Previous experience in transportation / warehouse / parts / service environment requiredAt least one of the following: Technical school degree in automotive or diesel repair Experience working a vehicle parts counter Experience working with vehicle/heavy duty equipment repairs or parts Includes but not limited to cars, trucks, diesel, motorcycles, heavy equipment, and military vehicles Wholesale distributor experience High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Basic PC access skills and basic understanding of PC systems Good verbal and written communication skills and a positive attitude Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer Problem-solving and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds The ability to stand, constantly move, and work outside for an 8-hour shift An energy level that will support constant movement throughout the department during the shift Must be able to periodically work beyond the scheduled 8-hour shift, as directed by the Parts Manager.BenefitsBeltway Companies provides a clear career path wrapped around an extensive employee recognition program.
